Chess Board

Inspired by our natural landscape our Native Collection Chessboard has been lovingly hand-manufactured using home-grown, hardwood flaming beech. Adorned with artwork taken from the Book of Kells which ties in with origin as it made just outside the heritage town of Kells, Co. Meath, this piece is truly magical. The natural beauty of the Irish timber is left intact as the waned edge bark is displayed. We have teamed up with The O'Gowna Company hailing from Naul in Co. Dublin who produces the chess pieces. The pieces are made from Irish limestone and designs depict the story of the monks and the Vikings. These designs are replicas of the Isle of Lewis which are on display in the British Museum in London The board and pieces are given in an Oak presentation box. This truly unique gift is perfect for the devoted chess player, house warming gift, or wedding present.
